The island of Sifnos is another diamond of the Cyclades. The traditional villages, the timeless and beautiful churches, and its crystal clear blue waters all calling you to plan your wedding there !!
Christina and Konstantinos had everything planned in their minds. Their colour was mint, their church was Chrissopigi, the beach and part of their wedding was the Fasolou. So together we began to fit all the puzzle pieces into place. The SAVE THE DATE showcased the party that would follow. Lights, garlands, flags, and of course all of the necessary information, was sent to the guests, the themed invitation posted. The La fete team booked all the necessary accommodation, rented cars and a van, confirmed the baby sitter, organized the bar, and designed the pre-wedding event. Everything was ready!
On Friday, the Agianemi restaurant located in the depths of Apollonia, awaited its guests, providing them with local appetizers and live music. We distributed customised wristbands with the couple’s initials (in Greek characters) and wedding date as a memento 'K & X - 23 JULY 2017 - SIFNOS'. Surprise craft paper bags (imprinted with the same stamp K & X) with raki and shot glasses inside were presented to the guests at their tables. An evening to remember with plenty of nostalgia!
On Saturday the La fete team were up early and busying themselves with preparations in the Fasolou restaurant. Tables, chairs, decorations, a handmade photobooth, polaroid cameras, candles, paper bunting, the dance floor, sound and lighting, all fell into place!
The intended spouses were getting ready in a guesthouse on Platis Gialos beach. Friends and relatives arrived and tasted the honeyed xerotigana originating from the beautiful Crete. Konstantinos’ birth place. Konstantinos put on his bow tie while the sweet Christina enjoyed her pampering.
Christina chose a skirt with a separate bodice with beautiful lace detailing and espadrilles fit for a comfortable walk along the cobblestones of the Chrisopigi Church. Just as the hairdresser’s completed her bouncy bun, her grandfather arrived from Crete especially to escort the bride!
In the churchyard fresh lemonade was served with mint leaves and water with cucumber to refresh the guests as they gaze at the Aegean. Handmade by mum, fans were presented to the ladies. Mint green crates with baby's breath were placed at the entrance of the church and the lambada candles with baby’s breath wreaths were placed in the front of the church. The decoration of the ceremony was charmingly created by the mother of the bride.
After the ceremony all of the photographs were taken in the magnificent cape of Chrissopigi and then the guests and the newlyweds left for the traditional dinner and big party! Where DJ Michalis Kalfagiannis stole the night away!
It was a very special night. Christina and Konstantinos were on cloud nine and it was apparent for all to see. Dance, dance, dance ‘til dawn!
